Cityscape is the subject in much of my work and my paintings are a means of proclaiming and responding to the compositions that reveal themselves in the everyday and the commonplace. Generally, I choose cityscape not because it is particularly beautiful but because it is available (if not inescapable).  We see these sights daily to the point where they become unremarkable, yet the tumult of angles, perspectives and shadows provides endless possibilities.  There is an abundance of dynamism and tension.
